Description
THIS MOSQUITO TRAP COMBINATION WHICH INCLUDES THREE TRAPS PER BUNDLE PROVIDES DOUBLE THE PROTECTION BY TARGETING TWO DIFFERENT STAGES OF THE TIGER MOSQUITO LIFE CYCLE:
The larger the area that is covered by traps the higher will be the effect of tiger mosquito control: Join forces with your neighbors and gain double: Save money and increase effects of mosquito control: Our 2+1 Neighborhood Set includes 6 x the combination of the two trap types (2+1) for a very affordable price. Each neighbor gets one 2+1 set. In this way the effect of the mosquito control can be greatly increased.
The highly effective BG-Mosquitaire suction trap targets tiger mosquitoes that are seeking a bloodmeal-host and want to bite you. Removing biting females creates an immediate effect making your garden more useable.
The non-electric BG-GAT trap targets tiger mosquitoes that are looking for a place to lay their eggs by imitating a breeding site to reduce tiger mosquito offspring. Catching egg laying females and preventing the eggs from becoming adult biting mosquitoes helps provide long lasting protection.

Development
The BG-GAT trap was developed by Dr. A. E. Eiras from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and Dr. S. A. Ritchie from the James Cook University, Cairns, Queensland, Australia. Biogents produces and distributes the trap under a license agreement with both universities.
Placement
FOR MAXIMUM CATCH RATES, THE CORRECT PLACEMENT OF THE TRAPS IS ESSENTIAL
In order to get the highest catch rates, test different locations!
The mosquito traps are to be used outdoors in your garden. Place the traps on the ground near resting areas of the mosquitoes, e.g., in shady, wind-protected places with high humidity such as in sparse shrubs. However, the traps should not be too hidden, but still visible. Do not place the traps directly on the terrace/patio and not in direct sunlight.
For an efficient and sustainable mosquito control it is necessary to avoid competition between the BG-GAT trap and other breeding sites. Therefore, remove or empty competing breeding sites, such as flowerpots, vases, buckets, water barrels, rain gutters, discarded cups and bottles, and plants that hold small quantities of water.
BG-Mosquitaire - Irresistibly attractive
How does the trap attract mosquitoes?
Our unique capture method
All Biogents suction traps have one thing in common: the patented counterflow principle
The perfect imitation of a breeding site
An imitation that will fool any egg-laying tiger mosquito
The trap prevents about 50 to 100 descendants with each captured female!
The trap imitates a breeding site for the mosquitoes to lay their eggs
High catch rates thanks to scientific approach
Trap comparison
Outdoors | BG-Mosquitaire | BG-GAT |
---|---|---|
Tiger mosquitoes | searching for a blood meal host | searching for a place to lay their eggs |
Trap's goal | to reduce biting | to reduce reproduction |
Power supply | yes | no |
Attractant available | yes | no |
Catch rates | +++++ | ++* |
* With the BG-GAT trap, a lower catch rate is normal and to be expected, as it will catch those mosquitoes that are looking for an egg-laying site and not those that want to bite a human for a blood meal. This naturally affects a smaller number of mosquitoes, but they lay a large number of eggs to have offspring (50 to 100 per mosquito).
Nature is important to us!
Biogents traps are developed to have the least impact on nature and the environment as possible
