FAQs

How many times do I need to refill during the season when using BG-Sweetscent?

One BG-Sweetscent sachet in the BG-Mosquitaire or BG-Home trap is effective for up to two months. After that, it should be replaced. BG-Sweetscents are also available as a season pack for six months (3 sachets).

Why does the attractant smell bad?

The Biogents suction trap uses a patented scent dispenser that releases an artificial human skin scent, attracting mosquitoes. The scent is strongest in the first three days after opening and reaches optimal levels after that, then stabilizes at a lower, constant release.

For BG-Home users, the initial scent of BG-Sweetscent may be too strong indoors. If so, place the sachets outdoors for 2-3 days to let the scent fade, and use the trap without the attractant in the meantime.

Can I use the BG-Sweetscent for the BG-Mosquitaire and the BG-Home?

Yes. The artificial human skin scent BG-Sweetscent is suitable for the BG-Mosquitaire and the BG-Home. It is also suitable for mosquito traps from other manufacturers.

Customer service is bad and Fan stopped working after 2 years

The trap worked fine for the first year.

In the second year I noticed it basically only caught very few mosquitoes and the fan was not sucking in any of them. I emailed customer support about this and still have not had a response. This is very poor for a product they charge so much money for.

Great scent

This, together with the CO2 works wonders. I’m trapping well over 100 mosquitoes per day. Love it!

The product has a strange smell, but it's not intended for humans to detect; it's meant to attract mosquitoes, and it works remarkably well! I check the sack trap frequently and notice that a lot of mosquitoes are being caught. I live in Las Vegas, and I can't believe mosquitoes have arrived here. In the 14 years I've lived in this city, I've never seen them so much like the last few years. Definitely recommend this product
